UK distributor SKU: ZT1178454X. A tight fitting facepiece is either a full/half facemask (with replaceable filters), or a filtering facepiece (one piece disposable masks). The performance of these types of facepieces relies heavily on the quality of fit to the wearer's face. An inadequate fit will significantly reduce the protection factor provided to the wearer. To ensure that the selected respiratory protection has the potential to provide adequate protection for individual wearers, the approved codes of practice (acops) supporting coshh (control of substances hazardous to health), caw (control of asbestos at work) and claw (control of lead at work) regulations recommend fit testing of rpe to ensure that inadequately fitting facepieces are not selected for use.Legal requirementsif, despite the use of suitable control measures (i.E. Other than respiratory protective equipment) adequate control of exposure cannot be achieved, employers must then provide suitable respiratory protective equipment (coshh regulations reg.7(3)(c), claw regulations reg.6(3)(c), caw regulations reg.10(4)). The respiratory protective equipment provided must reduce the exposure to a concentration below any applicable exposure or control limits and as low as reasonably practicable. The acops 1, 2, 3, 4 supporting the coshh, claw and caw regulations recommend that the initial selection of tight fitting facepieces should include a fit test. This is to ensure that the selected respiratory protective equipment has the potential to provide adequate protection for the wearer.Advantages inexpensive. Simple to use. No calibration of equipment required. Detection makes wearer feel more involved in the test. No modification of facepiece required. Test operator can be self-taught. Attributes: product number: ft30.
